Christmas Hangovers, I mean hangables

Copper Santa
I made this simple post a few weeks back acknowledging Maitreya's yeti ornament over on craftlog. We made contact by email and agreed to swap trinkets--straight up. So I'm sending over the above copper Santa to complete the trade.

Copper back
I created this ornament design two years ago--you really can't beat an original handmade Christmas gift--but this year I connected the pieces with a different soldering technique. By drilling a hole through the connecting points and soldering from the back, it avoids having the solder wick along the edges. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I liked the look of the silver color contrasting with the copper and giving more of a rough hewn handmade feel. However, this time the torch created a surface discoloration which gives it a unique look.
